Following the tragic news that a man has been found dead alongside three members of his family at a house in Costessey, Norwich Evening News asked me for my comment.

This is what I told them:

“This Tory government has told police it wants them to stop doing ‘mental health calls’. So we’re now bracing ourselves for something euphemistically called ‘Right Person, Right Care’. Which mental health campaigners are already calling ‘No Person, No Care’.”

“It’s also a neat precis of why we’ve had the worst mental health services in the country. Too few staff, too few beds, too many people not getting the care they need, and too many dying.”

“I don’t know what involvement NSFT had with this family before they all lost their lives. But I’m pretty sure we won’t get to the bottom of this until the Trust comes out and tells us.”
