I press the government to take action on pre-payment meters

Today in parliament, I challenged Amber Rudd, Secretary of State for Energy and Climate Change, and demanded the government take action over rip-off prepayment meters.

Currently, 4 million households are still languishing on prepayment meters. This includes over 37,000 people in Norwich (1 in 4 households). Having surveyed many of these users in Norwich, it’s apparent that often those forced onto meters are some of the most vulnerable in our society: half of the households I surveyed include older people or children.

I want the government to act swiftly on this and make sure these millions of people get a better and fairer energy deal.
