Why I'm taking action over pre-payment meters

Over 37,000 people in Norwich (1 in every 4 households) are likely to be pre-payment users - including some of the most vulnerable people in our city. Many had no choice because they got behind with energy payments.

Many people who have prepayment meters are forced to pay the highest tariff for their energy usage, on top of repaying previous energy debts. This makes it really difficult to budget through the winter months.

Older people are in real danger of suffering the effects of a cold winter. This group of people are least likely to be able to top up their supply online, once their emergency credit has been consumed, forcing them to go out in the cold to top up.

Please help us get fairness for prepayment users by sharing your experiences with us by completing the quick survey at the bottom of this page.
