I speak at protest against the closure of the Henderson Unit

DSC00232.JPG

I was pleased to be invited to NHS Norfolk Action Group's protest against the closure of the Henderson unit and axing of the Admiral Nurse service on Saturday. A full outline of the words I prepared to say will be published within the next few days.

The 24-bed Henderson unit, based at the Julian Hospital, is being closed down due to lack of funds. This ward admits patients who are medically fit to leave the hospital but not healthy enough to return home. Its closure will heap yet more pressure onto an already struggling adult social care system.

I'll continue to do all I can to stand up for our NHS and Defend NHS Services for Older People. Sign my petition here:http://www.clivelewis.org/defend_nhs_for_older_people
