Children's centre users visit parliament

It was great to welcome local families and Labour Group at Norfolk County Council's Cllr Emma Corlett to parliament yesterday to discuss the importance of children's centres.

From the stories they shared with me, it's clear that the Norfolk County Conservative's plans to slash the children's centre budget by half (£5 million) could have detrimental effects on future generations of parents and children. I've written to Norfolk County Council leaders to stress that children centres are a vital service and to cut them is a false economy.

Thank you to everyone who came along yesterday - I hope you all enjoyed the experience. One of the children visiting today told their parents they now think they might want to be an MP, so at least some did!
